Italian e-bike maker Fantic USA is moving its North American headquarters from California to Denver, seeking to take advantage of the state’s central location and growing importance in the electric-bike and outdoor-recreation sectors.
The company, which is moving into a location along East Cherry Creek Drive, will start small, planning to hire about five workers this year in lieu of bringing anyone out from its original home in Sausalito, California, said Ken Miner, an outdoorrecreation industry veteran who started in mid-March as Fantic USA general manager. But it plans to grow steadily in coming years in order to take advantage of an offer of as much as $215,645 in job-growth incentive tax credits from the Colorado Economic Development Commission last year if it were to create 20 new positions.
